KL Chapter Charity Cookie Bake saw 18 hotels from Kuala Lumpur came together,
with each hotel contributing at least 20kg of signature cookies baked by their
respective pastry chefs. The assorted cookies were then repacked into smaller
gift boxes weighing 200gm and sold at RM20 per pack. The proceeds from the
sales were then channelled to two beneficiaries selected by the board members
of MAH KL Chapter each year.
THE
Malaysian Association of Hotels’ (MAH) KL Chapter concluded its seventh Charity
Cookie Bake with a collection exceeding its target, thanks to the continued
combined support from hotel suppliers and many corporate companies. The annual
charity project was undertaken by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) KL
Chapter every December.
Originally,
MAH KL Chapter pledging to donate at least RM8,000 each to their two selected
beneficiaries which is Rumah Solehah and Persatuan Komuniti El Shaddai Kuala
Lumpur but the MAH KL Chapter exceeded their target. MAH KL Chapter final tally in collection was
able to hand over RM15,000 to each organisation.

KL Chapter’s annual Charity Cookie Bake project is championed by an organising
chairman appointed by rotation from among the board members of the Chapter. For
the Charity Cookie Bake 2016 was headed by Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala
Lumpur general manager Mondi Mecja.
Despite
a sluggish start to the sales, the organisers were delighted that the
pre-orders ensured the cookies were fully sold out within a week.
The
actual sales generated was RM28,300 and MAH KL Chapter topped up the amount
with an additional RM1,700 so that each beneficiary received RM15,000.
