Tourism
Selangor Sdn Bhd introduced its travel packages at the Hanatour International
Travel Show’s B2C session held recently at Kintex Exhibition Centre in South
Korea. Participating for the first time, Tourism Selangor teamed up with
HanaTour to maximise its promotions in South Korea’s largest travel expo held
from 8-11 June 2017.
The
expo had more than 1,000 exhibition booths last year, attracting more than
95,000 visitors.
Tourism
Selangor promoted to the Korean tourism industry players its packages which
emphasised on new products such as Sky Mirror.

Bookings
for the tours were made through its general sales agent (GSA) Hanatour during
the exhibition or via their website. Through this cooperation, Tourism Selangor
hopes to increase the arrivals as Malaysia is a popular destination for
Koreans, especially the golfers and honeymooners. Last year, South Korea ranked
fourth among the Eastern Asia countries with 43,755 tourists in 2016.
Tourism
Selangor General Manager Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din said the development of the
Korean market does not depend solely on its GSA. “It is a concerted effort by
all licensed local and Korean agents, Tourism Malaysia, airlines, hotels, other
accommodation providers and other related players.
“The
Koreans are loyal tourists to Malaysia and we want to tap on this demand in
Selangor. We have several potential tourist destinations such as Kuala
Selangor, Sekinchan and Sabak Bernam which are included in package tours.
“The
tours are fully customised and curated where the guests would be picked up at
their hotel’s doorsteps. Tour guides, activities, refreshments and meals are
included in the package.”
